head Training and discipleship

God has entrusted us with a very special curriculum for the training and equipping of servants for His Church. We endeavour to teach God’s Word with fervour, seeking to equip more servants for His Church. This will be done in the following way:

Certificate in Ministry

This, currently non-accredited Certificate in Ministry, consists of residential training at Silver Oaks on a quarterly basis. This set curriculum consists of 36 courses done for 5 days once a term on set dates (four times per year). Experienced lecturers that are well versed in the Scriptures and have had some theological training facilitate these times of training. The curriculum is currently under revision in order to make it more contextual and to improve the standard of training. Accreditation is also being investigated through SETA as well as REFORMA.

Higher Certificate in Theology

In partnership with Mukhanyo Theological College, the SCBS offers an accredited (NQF level 5) qualification. It consists of two modules:Higher Certificate in Church Ministry and Higher Certificate in Bible Teaching

Each of these modules consist of 12 subjects that represent 120 credit hours. The format of training is distance education with classes and follow the same rhythm as the SCBS Certificate in Ministry.

Secondary Level

A curriculum of 36 subjects taught by suitably qualified teachers, running for 5 consecutive days once every quarter. A non-accredited certificate in Ministry is awarded on completion. During the class time students reside on the Silver Oaks property. The nominal fee includes accommodation, meals and study notes.

Tertiary Level

In partnership with MUKHANYO THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE SCBS offers an accredited (NQF 5) Higher Certificate in Church Ministry and a Higher Certificate in Ministry. For an application form contact CfC at scbs@cfcm.co.za. For more info on Mukhanyo please go to www.mukhanyo.ac.za.
