George Sander

Director
George is married to Cecile and they have two married children. They have been married for more than 35 years and has been involved in mission and pastoral ministry all of their married lives. They have served as missionaries in Lesotho (10 years); Madagascar (2 years) and at CfC since 2015. George also served as Pastor in Dundee Baptist Church (3 years); Northcliff Union Church in Johannesburg (5 years) and the Baptist Church of the North in Mauritius (4 years). George not only directs the work of CfC but is also in involved in the maintenance of Silver Oaks; the Farming venture; lecturing in the SCBS; and regularly preaching in churches.
Cecile Sander

Silver Oaks Retreat & Conference Centre Manager
Cecile married George in 1985 and were involved in missions even before they got married. She has a heart for people and enjoy using her gift of hospitality and passion for discipleship whether it is at home, in her circle of friends, or in the daily happenings at CFC. She did some training in Christian Lay Counselling and find it rewarding to join people in their journeys to wholeness. She also did some training in Theology and value teaching the Word of God. Her greatest joy is to minister to women of all cultures and more specifically ministry wives. In this regard she thrives in teaching Food Technology in the Skills4Life program with all the wonderful opportunities it brings
Marius de Kock

S4L Computer Training Tutor & IT Manager
Marius came to CfC initially as an intern from Margate Baptist Church in 2018. Since 2019, Marius has been on the CfC staff. Having worked with computers and running businesses since early childhood, he loves using his experience to teach computer skills as an avenue to teach the Gospel. He also assists with the farm when possible. He is passionate about “second chances” and helping people heal from past trauma, believing that job skills are vital to this healing process. He is also studying part-time towards his BTh with SATS.
Support Staff
Zama Zoko

Farm & Security (also translator for the S4L program)
Zama is married to Zanele and they have a little boy. He has been living and working at Silver Oaks from the time CfC bought the property. Zama and his family live onsite. Zama looks after the farm, is responsible for security on-site as well as helping with interpretation for the Skills4Life program.
Thobile Nhlumayo

Household (also teach sewing from time to time at the S4L program)
Thobile is married and has three children. She is the key in CfC’s ministry of hosting people. She is responsible for household, and making sure all the facilities are ready for campers to use. She has been with CfC for more than 10 years. Thobile also assist with sewing training at least once a year when she takes a class.
Spha Diya

Maintenance
Spha is not married and have worked at CfC since 2015. He is responsible to keep the CfC buildings well maintained. He is the author of Zulu traditional music, of which some have been aired on radio. He also arranges cultural events to encourage communities, seeking to encourage young people to move away from a lifestyle of crime and violence.
