Obedience! That is God’s ultimate requirement from all His children. Obedience sets “ordinary believers” apart from “extraordinary believers”! This statement should be an oxymoron, because the Bible assumes that those who owe their lives to the deliverance of God through Jesus Christ, are those who obey Him. Sadly, this is not true for many children of God, as is evident right through the Old Testament. Unfortunately, disobedience rob the children of God from the blessings He has meant for them.
Abraham’s righteousness was credited to him because he “believed God” (Rom. 4:3), that is he obeyed God. Belief for him was not a cognitive notion of agreeing to a theory, but he practically acted on God’s command – leaving his country to an unknown land (Genesis 12:1, 4), and “offering his son” on Mount Moria, where God graciously intervened and provided a ram as sacrifice (Genesis 22).
He had such confidence in God’s Word that he believed that even after offering his son Isaac, God would raise him from the dead (Hebrews 11:17-18), as he was the son of promise.
I wonder how we would have responded to God? In this newsletter we will share with you how we believe God is leading us to step out in faith. It is not easy, and we are not sure of the outcome, but we serve a God who work in extraordinary ways and is always true to His Word!
