A thought to ponder …
HOPE! Four simple letters that can change a person’s life and outlook on life. Without hope, life
ends and death sets in. This is both a spiritual truth, as well as a truth that holds true in daily life.
Biblical Hope is a firm conviction that the future promises of God will be fulfilled. In 1
Timothy 1:1 we read that Christ Jesus is our hope. Our hope is therefore not based on
circumstances, but on the person of Jesus, our Saviour and Lord.
As believers we have hope because we know our future is certain. In Romans 8:22-25 we read:
“For we know that the whole of creation has been groaning together in the pains of
childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves who have the first fruits
of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of
our bodies. For this hope we were saved, Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who
hopes for what he sees? But we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with
patience.”
