Dear Partner in ministry
Greetings from a very wet South Coast. Rains came early and we are delighted as we suffered a severe drought last summer. The trees are flourishing, and everything points to a good potential harvest in 2022. Our prayer is that it would be a good spiritual harvest as well.
Cecile and I just returned from our two-month road trip. Thank you for praying for us. We are well-rested and ready to go😊 Due to our absence, we were unable to produce a September Newsletter. We are sorry about that but assure you that we will have one in December. This does not mean that the work stood still. The Team did an admirable job, and we want to thank you for your prayers for the ministry in our absence.
A Short Report:
The Skills4Life Incubator finished on a high note as the 5 ladies completed their training with good results (see pictures attached). It was a challenging time for Greg as we faced the lockdown regulations and one of the students contracted Covid. Thankfully the rest were all right and they faithfully completed their course. Please do continue to pray for them as the future success of the businesses lies with them applying the principles they have learned. Also pray that the spiritual lessons they learned will prove fruitful in their lives.
The Cabin Project also progressed slowly, mainly because the supplier of the timber did not act according to our specifications. This caused huge frustrations and extra work, delaying progress (see pictures attached). However, we are grateful it is at this stage and after the Bible School, the roof will go up after which we can complete the inside of the building. This is just in time as the other cabin is failing at an alarming rate and will need to be demolished once the new Cabin is completed. A huge thanks to Bruce Harborth for his hard work as a volunteer on this project. We are also so grateful for the funds donated towards this project. Please pray for speedy completion as the rainy weather conditions, for which we are grateful, also hampers progress.
The CfC Farm has produced a wonderful harvest of more that 500 Kg of nuts bringing in a financial blessing of over R38 000-00 (USD$2622-00). We praise the Lord for His grace as well as those assisting us.
Looking Forward:
The South Coast Bible School (SCBS) starts on Sunday after we had to cancel classes in July due to the restrictions set because of the pandemic. Please pray for the students that they will come prepared to learn, and be encouraged by the Lord. The following subjects will be covered:
Diploma: Pastoral Practice (George Sander); & Christian Missions (Jonathan Fraser)
Certificate: Homiletics (Alpheus Sibiya); Ephesians (Albert Makaula) & Jeremiah (Ryan Smulders)
Please also pray for the lecturing staff as well as Cecile and her team in hosting and catering for the students. Pray that the students will leave encouraged and strengthened to continue ministry in trying times.
The Skills4Life month-long training program commences on the 25th of October. Please pray for Greg as he prepares to host this course and that the Lord would provide trainers for the respective courses. This is an urgent need as we are battling to find volunteers to assist us in training. If you would like to help, or know of someone that could help, please feel free to contact Greg at greg@amakhonookuphila.co.za . CfC offers free accommodation for this period to those willing to assist, especially looking forward to 2022.
The SCBS Graduation will take place on Saturday the 20th of November. Please remember us also in prayer as we plan for this special day in the lives of our students!
Thank you to those who regularly pray for us, and also those who support this work financially. We are so grateful for each one of you! God has been good in these trying times and your partnership has greatly encouraged us to continue in this work.
Greetings from the CfC Team, the CfC & S4L Council as well as Ron and Sally.
